Textensor Limited (the company behind A.nnotate.com) is pleased to offer substantial discounts to universities, schools and colleges in return for your cooperation in helping us improve the suitability of the software for educational use, your willingness to be listed as a user on the A.nnotate website and possibly to be featured as a case study. The discounts apply to the standalone server installed on a local computer running Linux with Apache and managed by your own IT staff.
Eligible educational institutions may purchase standalone server licenses allowing unlimited use for staff and students at $1,999 each (about £1,020 or €1,270: current exchange rates at the time of purchase will be applied). Email support via a designated contact person is available at $699/year. Customers who do not take up the support option are still encouraged to make use of the user forum and to pass on their experiences and suggestions to Textensor Limited.
A license covers running A.nnotate on a single server, but this machine can be as powerful as you need (e.g. multicore or multiprocessor). Depending on the number and type of documents to be processed at peak times one server can typically accommodate up to a thousand students. Servers may be deployed centrally, on separate departmental networks or on a site by site basis and can be relocated within the institution without restrictions.
The offer does not apply to certain private for-profit organizations selling distance-learning courses. If you think this may apply to you, please get in touch.
The standalone server is now available (July 2008). If you would like to be take advantage of this offer, please enter your details below and we will contact you by email with details of a trial / developer license. Your address will not be shared with other organizations and will used for any other purpose than this notification unless you also check the "keep me informed of other A.nnotate developments" box.
Thank you for your interest in the A.nnotate server and we look forward to being in touch soon.
